Those who have an ostomy know that it can be difficult. This is one health concern that not everyone knows about, but those who do understand what a challenge it can be. If you want to support those with ostomies, come out for the 2nd Annual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to show your support while doing something positive for your own health. Whether you’re a regular runner or you’re just getting started, you’re invited to come out to participate.
This 5k is going to take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, so it should be relatively easy for you to get to. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., and the race will begin at 10 a.m. At noon, make sure you come out for the awards ceremony.
Since the money from this event is going toward a good cause, you’ll want to do your part to help out. That’s where the registration fee comes in. Registration will cost $33 for adults and $12 for children ages 14 and under. This money is going toward helping people who really need it, so it’s definitely worth it!
Part of the joy of running outside is the fact that you get a chance to enjoy the great outdoors while you get your workout in. Luckily, this course is one of the most beautiful around. It’s an out-and-back course, and it’ll go through both wooded and open areas. The course is mostly flat, which means that you won’t have to go up and down hills while you’re running.

Prepare Yourself Before the 5k
If you’ve never run a 5k before, you may not know how to prepare for your ride. However, it’s important to do everything in your power to prepare, so you can do your best. Most importantly, you should hydrate yourself as much as possible in the days before the event. However, it’s not a good idea to drink too much water right before you run. In addition, you should ensure that you have comfortable shoes that you have already broken in, so your feet don’t get blisters while you run!
You can’t get everywhere you need to go around town on foot. Instead, you’re going to need a reliable ride to get to most of your destinations. Come find the kind of vehicle you’re looking for here at Halterman’s Mitsubishi in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
